Only 14% of young-adult authors are male, and female authors are more inclined to write books with appeal to girls.
Boys have more difficulty choosing books than girls, and adults nudging book suggestions at them tend to be female (mothers, teachers, librarians and teacher-librarians). So, hopefully, this site simply offers another tool to those influencers – and to teen readers themselves.
