FAQ

Q: What kinds of books do you review?
A: Fiction or nonfiction deemed to appeal to teen boys. Novels must have a male protagonist, or a male as one of the main characters in a multi-protagonist book. Male, female and non-binary authors are all welcome, as are books with non-binary protagonists. The books must be published within the past year or be forthcoming (ARCs).

Q: Do you review self-published books?
A: No.

Q: Do you accept ARCs and review copies from traditionally-published authors as well as from traditional publishers?
A: Yes. But please read “Publishers Info” before submitting.

Q: Are all submitted books reviewed, and positively?
A: We cannot guarantee to review all books received. Our reviews are objective and may not always be loved by the author or publisher.

Q: Do you review middle-grade books?
A: Despite the YA in front of our name, and an emphasis on YA, we also review some MG.

Q: How do you choose the authors you feature?
A: We like to go with suggestions from publishers, although traditionally-published authors may also put their own names forward. All featured authors are individuals who primarily write books that appeal to teen boys. They need not be male, only human.

Q: Do you accept outside contributors?
A: Individuals interested in submitting articles, short stories or poems please query. Sorry, but at this time, there is no compensation.
