SBC Summit Europe partners with CasinoNieuws for Dutch market focus

The multi-year deal makes the Dutch news platform the event's exclusive gambling media partner for its 2027 debut in Amsterdam.

AMSTERDAM · SBC Events has announced a strategic multi-year media partnership with CasinoNieuws.nl, the leading Dutch gambling news platform. The deal makes CasinoNieuws the exclusive Dutch gambling media partner for SBC Summit Europe 2027, which will debut at the RAI Amsterdam from April 19 to 21, 2027. The partnership aims to expand the event's reach in the Netherlands and bolster its conference programme with local industry expertise. CasinoNieuws will co-curate a dedicated Dutch market track at the summit.

The news platform, founded in 2020, will help shape the themes, sessions and speaker lineup for the track. The programme will explore regulatory and commercial challenges in the Dutch market, including taxation, advertising restrictions, player protection, channelisation and enforcement. SBC CEO and founder Rasmus Sojmark said the Netherlands offers valuable lessons for Europe. "The Netherlands is one of Europe’s most interesting regulated gambling markets, with valuable lessons around taxation, player protection, channelisation and the commercial sustainability of licensed operators," Sojmark said.

Sojmark added that the partnership is a key part of establishing the summit as the annual meeting place for Europe's regulated gaming industry. "CasinoNieuws has developed a strong understanding of the Dutch gambling industry, and through this partnership, we look forward to engaging more closely with the Dutch gaming community, strengthening our conference programme and bringing Dutch market expertise into the wider European discussion," he said. Frank Op de Woerd, CEO and editor-in-chief of CasinoNieuws, said hosting the event in Amsterdam is a major opportunity. "Having an event of this scale and international reach come to Amsterdam is a fantastic opportunity for the Dutch gambling industry," Op de Woerd said. "We’re operating in a market that has undergone enormous change in just a few years, and having the people shaping Europe’s regulated markets come together here creates opportunities for conversations we don’t often get to have on this scale."

Regulatory Focus and Other Partnerships

The CasinoNieuws agreement follows a recently announced partnership with VNLOK, the Dutch trade association for licensed online gambling operators. While CasinoNieuws will contribute editorial reach and insights, the VNLOK partnership focuses on boosting operator participation. The summit will also benefit from SBC's three-year strategic partnership with the International Association of Gaming Regulators and the International Masters of Gaming Law. A dedicated European Regulation track will examine key developments across the continent. The event will open on April 19 with an invitation-only SBC Leaders Regulatory Forum for senior regulators, policymakers and industry leaders. Beyond regulation, the 2027 summit will feature four conference stages and specialist forums on topics like lottery innovation, sports integrity, payments and blockchain. Organizers expect more than 8,000 attendees, including over 3,000 licensed operator representatives. The event will also host 250 exhibitors and sponsors and 250 industry speakers. Tickets for SBC Summit Europe will go on sale soon, according to the announcement.
